History and Family – it’s what Gold Beach Lumber is all about

In 1959, the Ringer family opened our first store in Hunter Creek-just outside of Gold Beach, Oregon. We have a four-generation strong history of leadership and have grown to 5 stores in Oregon. Our stores are located in Gold Beach, Brookings, Port Orford, Cottage Grove and Creswell.

We are a growing, successful company because we believe that we are only as good as the people who work for us and we treat our customers how we would want to be treated.

Our company culture is one of service, honestly, integrity and value. Thank you for shopping with us.

The Gold Beach Lumber Yard Legacy: Four Generations Strong

As published in the Curry County Reporter - Summer 2003 By Anna Van Dyke

Just 20 years ago, Gold Beach Lumber was the smallest lumber supply store in Curry County. Today, it is the only lumber supply store left in Gold Beach – with its only competition located 27 miles south, in Brookings. And, unlike the many supply stores in the county which have grown smaller and smaller over the years, Gold Beach Lumber has only grown larger.

Perhaps it’s the legacy of fathers and sons working together that have kept the business moving forward. Or perhaps it’s the focus on service and trust that the first owner – Clarence Ringer – insisted upon. Whatever the reason, though, Gold Beach Lumber has not only survived, but thrived.

With Ryan Ringer stepping into the position of Vice-President last fall in order to work alongside his father, Reed Ringer (President and owner), the legacy of Gold Beach Lumber now stands not just three – but four – generations strong.

Eight Young Home Improvement Retailers Named Young Retailer of the Year for 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Ryan Ringer, general manager of Gold Beach Lumber in Gold Beach, Oregon, was recently named one of the hardware industry’s eight 2015 Young Retailer of the Year Award recipients by the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA). Ringer’s award was in the multi-store category.

The award, established to identify and promote the next generation of aspiring independent home improvement retailers, recognizes individual achievement by industry retailers 35 years and younger throughout the United States and Canada. Selected from different retail categories, winners are chosen based on a number of criteria including professional activities and highlights in areas such as career and community involvement, hardware industry education and extracurricular activities.

Sponsors of the 2015 Young Retailer of the Year award include the American Hardware Manufacturers Association, Apex Tool Group, Delta Faucet Company, Fluidmaster, Intertape Polymer Group and Midwest Fastener Corporation.

Owner Ryan Ringer has led superheroic growth at his small-town Oregon lumberyard.

Building-Products.com Dealer Profile - October 2015

There’s an “About Us” feature on Gold Beach Lumber’s website, describing the history of the company launched four generations ago in that South Oregon town of under 2,500.

But it leaves out the part about when owner Ryan Ringer, 35, steps into the phone booth and emerges in his Superman suit—or at least that’s what you expect when reading his resume. On the phone, however, he sounds like a nice—and vastly smarter—Clark Kent.

Twenty years ago, as the website relates, Gold Beach was the smallest yard in town. Today, it’s the sole one remaining in Gold Beach, and doing so well that two more locations have been added, thanks to Ryan’s superpowers, aka business savvy.
