Reed
and Chub Ringer
Owners, Gold Beach Lumber
It all started in 1959 when Reed's
grandparents moved to Gold Beach to "retire". They
opened the first Gold Beach Lumber Store. It was originaly very
small and wood framed. In 1972 Reed's father assumed ownership of
Gold Beach Lumber, and in 1981 Reed purchased Gold Beach Lumber from his
father.
Now employing about 18 employees, Gold
Beach Lumber is a significant building materials distributor on the
Southern Oregon Coast. Reed says that his major business objective
is "to contribute to the community".
Reed and his wife Chub have three
children: Ryan, who is attending Southern Oregon University; Kyle,
who is presently on an exchange program in South Africa and who will be
attending Pacific University in the fall of 2000; and Alyson, a
sophomore at GBH.
Both Reed and Chub are very active in
community service organizations and community, home and family
activities. Chub is very involved with kids sports activities and
fund raising. Reed is the HS wrestling coach and an avid
"river rat". He loves to raft!
With another major addition to the Gold
Beach Lumber facility being scheduled for this summer, and with the Do
It Best corporation's continued growth, Gold Beach Lumber is positioned
to continue being the dominant supplier of building materials to the
Gold Beach Area.
Reed and Chub thank their great employees
for all that they do to ensure that GBL Customers always receive the
best service.
And of course Reed and Chub (and the of
the Gold Beach Lumber employees) thank the community of Gold Beach and
the surrounding areas for their support and business.
